:thumbsup: If you want to continue to play mods like AIX, POE, DCon, etc., until they are updated for the new version of BF2, use the procedure below to create two installs of BF2 (version 1.41 & 1.5):
* Copy your 'Battlefield 2' folder to 'Battlefield 2 v1.41' at the same level
* Install the update
* This will update your version of Battlefield 2 where it was originally installed.
To go back to BF2 v1.41:
* Rename your new (1.50) install folder to something else i.e. Battlefield 2 v1.50
* Rename the copied install (v1.41) to what it originally was i.e. Battlefield 2
* Click START>RUN
* Type: regedit
* Go to (in Vista its different): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREElectronic ArtsEA GAMESBattlefield 2
* There you will see a key called Version. It should say 1.50
* Change this to 1.40 and close regedit
* Run Battlefield 2 as normal
If you are starting from scratch, the install order is:
Install BF2
Bf2 Patch 1.41 Download
Install Special Forces (optional, if you have it)Bf2 Patch 1.5 Download Battlefield 2
Install patch 1.41Install patch 1.50
Update Punkbuster
If you are having issues with your install, check for help here: 1.50 Patch Troubleshooting
* The only major issue with the patch people are reporting is that you cannot Alt-Tab out of BF2, if you have Anti-Aliasing enabled. This was identified in the beta phase. The response from Bazajaytee has been 'Either don't Alt-Tab, or don't use AA'.

20-Aug-2009 Edit:
Bf2 Patch 1.5 Download
DICE has not yet announced when the patch will be available. But they have announced when they will announce when the patch will be available. Next week.EA Forum Link
As I said in another thread yestedray, expect something to be released next week regarding a release date. This week has some key people at GamesCom that need to get back before I can release anything.
Just a quick update. We have what we believe is the final version of Battlefield 2 v1.50. We have a little bit of office politics to sort out regarding the update but once thats cleared up we'll be good to release it.
Unfortunately I can't tell you what the office politcis decision is about but it is worth the slight extra delay. There won't be another public Beta of this version, instead we will do a closed Beta to get a faster turn around and is basically to make sure things are still OK like the connection to servers issue.
You will need to have Battlefield 2 installed to version 1.41. We won't support installing over a previous 1.50 Beta version (it might work without issue but it might not so to be safe install over 1.41) so feel free to uninstall/delete that version.
24-Jul-2009 Edit: Final Patch, now in 2-3 weeks Link
There are some things the tidy up before final like the inability to play Special Forces.
The release is more likely a matter of weeks away (2-3 weeks at a rough guess).
So whats changed since the Beta 3 started? The screens below will help explain.
? Black cross hair on the TV guided missiles
? Widescreen FoV on widescreen resolutions
When I get back into the office next week there will be some last minute checks (no more fixes (unless something is broken that I didnt expect) or changes) and all being well the update 1.50 will be finalised and released officially.
Thanks for your feedback during the Beta phases. Its all gone a long way to make this one of the biggest changelogs that Battlefield 2 has had since launch.
